My name is Hamish Taylor, I have worked in the special education area for 10 years, starting as a teachers aide and now a primary school teacher. I am currently studying a Masters in Special Education at University of Wollongong, NSW. I have gravitated to teaching in the area of special education, teaching students with intellectual,communication, physical, sensory, behavioural and emotional disabilities. My experience and interest in technology has led me to experiment with various technological devices and applications to enagage, motivate and provide students with disabilities better access to learning and the curriculum, and a better over all quality of life. I also share this knowledge with my colleagues, so as a team we can enhance learning accessibility for all students. I am currently working as a support teacher at Batemans Bay High school on the south coast of NSW, I have implemented iPad technology into the support class and am now introducing the Google platform to my students with other staff learning and engaging from my modelling.
